WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE IN COMMON IS EACH OTHER?
“A few times in my life I’ve had moments of absolute clarity. When for a few brief seconds the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. It’s as though it had all just come into existence.
I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I have lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present, and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be.” —(A Single Man ; Tom Ford)

The Anniversary
Exactly one year ago, I lost a best friend. Exactly one year ago, I lost a piece of me that can never be replaced. I feel like I’m falling into nothingness.
But then I think of Danielle.
I remember a life lead with no enemies, no resentments, and no regrets.
I’m inspired again.
And so I peel myself off my bedroom floor.
Because the only thing keeping me from being swallowed whole by sadness is that she would hate me if I let it.
So for now, I’m just going to miss her.
I miss you Danielle. I love you.
And I carry your heart. Always.
“Only trust someone who can see these three things in you: The sorrow behind your smile, the love behind your anger, and the reason behind your silence.”
